These clubs and organizations welcome new members and are anxious to help you learn more about gardening on the South Plains of Texas.

Print out a copy of the 2007 South Plains Flower Show information pamphlet. Share your flowers with the rest of the South Plains. There is no cost and you do not have to be a member of a gardening club.

Lubbock, Texas is the home to a wide variety of garden clubs. Our excellent soil and interesting seasons make gardening a favorite pastime.

Our semi-arid environment means that choice of plants and water conservation practices provide a challenge to newcomers. Gardeners who come to live here from areas with greater rainfall and more temperate seasons are surprised to discover the joys of growing plants in our world.

Garden Clubs of Lubbock are devoted to helping gardeners from all backgrounds. Their goals are:

• To advance the fine art of gardening, landscape design, floral design, garden therapy, and the study of horticulture
• To protect and conserve natural resources
• To protect civic beauty
• To encourage the improvement of roadsides and parks
